Risk of soybean rust low in Indiana

For most of the Indiana soybean crop, the potential for soybean rust in 2010 is relatively low, but Kiersten Wise, assistant professor of botany and plant pathology at Purdue University says that doesn’t mean soybean rust won’t be a problem in 2011.

“This disease behaves differently every year in the United States, so we have to monitor it carefully each year,” Wise said.
