Trade agreements key to soybean exports
Every other row of soybeans leaves the U.S. destined for foreign markets. Iowa Soybean Association CEO Kirk Leeds says China is the big player among many countries that do business with U.S. soybean growers. However, Leeds is quick to point out that the biggest impediment to soybean exports is the group of pending free trade agreements yet to be finalized. He says money is being left on the table until trade is liberalized with several trading partners.
