Preserving a part of agricultural history

Amos Schwartz said that when he looked into a barn or an old building he always tried to look for the good in the building.  Some of his most notable restorations include the Roann Covered Bridge and the Normandy Barn that was rebuilt and then moved to the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Fittingly, this Sunday at 3pm, Resurrection of a Barn, will be shown at the Normandy Barn.  The feature highlights some of the restorations Schwartz has made around the state, specifically a barn he restored on Brookeville Road.

Lynn Sygiel, the documentary’s associate producer says the barns are a part of Indiana’s heritage and it’s important to share the story.

Schwartz passed away in the spring 2013 and Sygiel says his legacy lives on through his barns and other restorations.
