Alltech “Planet of Plenty” award nominations are open
Alltech is calling for nominations for their Planet of Plenty awards until the end of July. The awards will recognize different individuals including farmers, students and educators who make strides in agricultural sustainability.
Susanna Elliott is the head of communications for Alltech, she tells Brownfield many producers around the world are already working towards higher sustainability.
“Farmers, ranchers, growers and others around the world are already working toward that planet of plenty,” Elliott says. We just may not be hearing about it because it’s happening in smaller pockets and places around the world. So, we want to elevate those stories.”
Elliott says creating a Planet of Plenty means different things in different markets.
There are some markets where the focus is really on producing enough food sustainably,” Elliott says. “Others in which it’s about injecting quality and safety into the food chain and then ultimately, you know, getting up to the idea of looking
Elliott says she believes no other industry has the potential to have a more positive impact on the future of the planet.
