Carbon credit planning for soybean farmers
As planting nears and environmental credit programs continue to emerge as opportunities for Missouri farmers, environmental programs director Darrick Steen says those interested in such programs should be thinking ahead about implementing practices. Steen says that planting cover crops, reducing tillage, and limiting nitrogen loss are among the practices that farmers should consider. Steen also says that farmers will soon get a first look at what environmental credits are worth when credits from last year’s pilot program are sold this spring. Learn more at mosoy.org.
