Syngenta is set to introduce Durastak, its latest corn trait technology, for the 2027 growing season. This innovation features the first-ever triple-Bt protein stack in the industry, delivering advanced control against corn rootworm. Built to tackle resistance, Durastak™ offers up to 50% stronger protection than Duracade™ and an average yield increase of 9.7 bushels per acre.

At the 2026 Commodity Classic, Brownfield spoke with Matt Dolch, Syngenta’s Corn Products Manager and Corn Traits Lead. He highlighted the significant impact of corn rootworm, which costs U.S. farmers nearly a billion dollars each year in lost yield and management expenses.

Dolch emphasized that Durastak is designed not just for immediate pest control, but as a long-term solution within a comprehensive corn rootworm resistance management strategy. He also noted that farmers are looking for reliable traits and genetics tailored to their local conditions, all conveniently packaged in a Golden Harvest brand corn bag.
