Brownfield Team recognized at NAFB Convention

Brownfield Ag News and Learfield Ag had a successful National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) convention in Kansas City, Missouri November 12-15, 2024.

Here are some convention highlights:

Leadership:

·       Carah Hart wrapped up her term as president of NAFB

·       Meghan Grebner was re-elected president of the NAFB Foundation 

·       Anita Vanderwert was re-elected to chair the Marketing & Promotions Committee

Investing in the future of farm broadcasting:

·       The first Cyndi Young scholarship, presented by Brownfield Ag News was presented

Program participation/leadership:

·       Anna Bethany hosted “Young Professionals Roundtable”

·       Brent Barnett was a panelist for “Young Professionals Roundtable”

·       Mark Dorenkamp moderated a session “Renewable Fuels”

·       Cyndi Young moderated a session “Environmental Issues”

·       Meghan Grebner moderated the session: “Work/Life balance – How to avoid burnout”

·       Brent Barnett was a panelist for session “Work/Life balance – How to avoid burnout”

Awards/Recognition:

·       Nicole Heslip received 2nd place in NAFB Marketcast competition for a Dairy Update program

·       Mark Dorenkamp awarded first place in the NAFB Newscast competition

·       Jared White received second place in the NAFB Newscast competition

·       Brent Barnett placed third place in the NAFB Newscast competition

·       Brownfield Ag News team presented with the President’s Award

·       Cyndi Young presented with the President’s Award

In addition to all of the newsmaker sessions covered, interviews done, stories written and produced and every single program on Brownfield, AgriAmerica and multiple platforms completed from Kansas City, the Brownfield team conducted more than 100 interviews during Trade Talk.
