Behind the Scenes

Midwest Farmers Prefer Brownfield Ag News; Latest research shows farmers choose and trust Brownfield over other radio options in the Midwest

Brownfield Ag News is proud to announce the results of the 2025 FMR/Eastlan Consumer Behavior Analysis Study, the only research of its kind measuring engagement specifically with farm programming rather than overall station audiences.

The survey covers counties representing 68.7% of U.S. corn acres, 66.5% of soybean acres, and 58% of all growers with 500+ acres in these states, providing a comprehensive view of farm media habits

The study confirms AM/FM radio as the #1 choice for farmers, with more than 90% tuning in weekly. Younger farmers are listening too: 68% of respondents ages 25–54 recall tuning into Brownfield programming, demonstrating strong engagement with this key demographic.

Brownfield continues to earn farmers’ trust, with 8 out of 10 respondents identifying the network as their trusted source for farm information. By contrast, social media ranks as the least trusted source among farmers.

The research also highlights that Brownfield listeners are ready to act on advertising, making it a highly effective platform for reaching decision-makers in agriculture.
