Behind the Scenes
Nebraska crops lookin’ good. . .
Ken Anderson attended a propane irrigation engine demonstration this morning. He saw some mighty fine crops along the way and heard from some optimistic farmers while there:
Back from my trip to Henderson, Nebraska, about 50 miles west of Lincoln. Crops look great. One farmer told me he’s estimating his irrigated corn could run 250-280 bushels per acre, 20-30 bushels better than last year. Said he’s amazed by what the combination on improved genetics and biotechnology is doing to corn yields. Of course, great weather helps too.
