Behind the Scenes

Orlando weather

Since Tom Steever talked about weather in Seattle earlier in the week, we felt it only fair that Orlando get equal time on the Brownfield Blog!  Julie Harker is on the ground in Orlando, covering the AG CONNECT Expo:

The weather in Orlando isn’t warm but it’s nice. I’m still wearing my jacket I brought with me from Missouri. But, after lows in the freezing 20s on Sunday, Orlando weather was back in the high 50s when I landed here Monday afternoon for AG CONNECT Expo.

In Orlando, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures have been in the 60s. The last two days of the Expo, Friday and Saturday, will see highs in the 70s. Midwesterners like me and others outside of the Southeast were hoping it’d be more Florida-like here but we’re happy to have escaped at least some of the cold weather, even though temperatures back home have “warmed up” a bit since we left. The freeze in Florida is said to have destroyed up to 30 percent of the citrus crops in the state. The full extent of the damage won’t be known for several weeks.
