Behind the Scenes

Recording studio in Afghanistan

The 734th Agri-Business Development Team (ADT) is in Afghanistan, providing agricultural training and advice to Afghans.  The ADT is a self-contained volunteer unit composed of more than 60 Iowa Army National Guard and Iowa Air National Guard members with backgrounds and expertise in various sectors of the agribusiness field.   Former Nebraska-based Brownfield Ag News Farm Broadcaster, U.S. Air Force Capt. Peter Shinn,  is a member of the 734th and is documenting the team’s experiences on the Brownfield Ag News website and on the Brownfield Ag News radio network.

As farm broadcasters, we are accustomed to doing our work in some pretty remote locations and the audio is not always as “clean” as we would like for it to be.  Captain Shinn’s audio quality has been very good so far, which prompted an inquiry from Tom Steever about the studio our dear friend is using.
