Stangler joins Brownfield Ag News as Intern

Brownfield Ag News is excited to welcome Michelle Stangler as its summer farm broadcasting intern. Stangler is based in Jefferson City, Missouri, and will work alongside the team to learn, create, and produce unique content for Brownfield’s radio network and various multi-media platforms.

“Michelle’s background in agriculture and passion for impactful journalism makes her a perfect fit for our team,” says Meghan Grebner, Brownfield Broadcast Supervisor. “Her experience and keen insight create the opportunity for a great summer internship experience.”

“I’m looking forward to learning from a team of dedicated farm broadcasters and communicators from across the Midwest while connecting and reporting on stories with Missouri farmers, ranchers, and agriculturalists,” says Stangler. “Engaging with the agricultural community inspires me to grow my storytelling skills, and I’m excited for the opportunity to grow with Brownfield.”

A southern Wisconsin native, Stangler grew up on a dairy farm where her passion for agricultural storytelling grew after her involvement with 4-H and FFA. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in May, where she studied Agricultural Marketing Communications and Journalism with a minor in Agricultural Business. Her passion for agricultural radio began at the on-campus radio station WRFW 88.7 creating a radio show that’s now a podcast. Additionally, she served as the station’s program manager and president of the club, student media committee president and co-founded the agricultural and natural resources communications club and was also active in the university’s dairy club and collegiate farm bureau.

Stangler has won Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow awards for her podcast, radio packages and programs. She is a two-time NAFB Foundation scholarship and internship recipient. Besides a love for storytelling and her Wisconsin roots, Stangler enjoys outdoor adventures such as hiking and paddleboarding, traveling and cherishing memories with her 7-month-old niece alongside time with family and friends.
