Weekly Livestock Market Update to relaunch in 2025

Brownfield Ag News is relaunching its popular Weekly Livestock Market Update on January 10, 2025.

On Friday afternoons for nearly nine years, Brownfield Broadcast Supervisor Meghan Grebner has held an in-depth Facebook Live conversation with University of Missouri assistant extension professor Scott Brown. Dedicated viewers tune in to watch the program and subscribe to the program’s companion e-newsletter. With Brown’s departure from the university, Brownfield is relaunching with a new team of livestock economists.

“Scott Brown has been a trusted voice, providing livestock producers with valuable insights and market analysis every Friday to help them navigate the complexities of their operations. As Scott embarks on his next journey, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his dedication and years of service to Brownfield’s Weekly Livestock Market Update,” said Meghan Grebner, Brownfield Broadcast Supervisor and host of the program. “As we turn the page to a new chapter, we are thrilled to welcome three distinguished experts—Dr. Charley Martinez of the University of Tennessee, Dr. Kenny Burdine of the University of Kentucky, and Dr. Josh Maples of Mississippi State University—who will each bring their unique perspectives and expertise every Friday. We look forward to their contributions and to the continued success of the program.”

“Brownfield Ag News has a rich history of providing livestock market information to listeners,” said Cyndi Young, Director of Brownfield & Learfield Ag. “Since 1973, farmers have tuned in to listen to Brownfield market news on their local radio stations. Today Brownfield’s in-depth market information is available on multiple platforms.”

On Friday, December 20th, Grebner and Brown will be joined by the three new experts for a special edition of the Weekly Livestock Market Update. This will be the final program of 2024, offering insights into market trends and an in-depth discussion on the USDA’s Livestock Slaughter and Cattle on Feed report.
Viewers can tune in every Friday, mid- afternoon to watch the live weekly update, or sign up for Brownfield’s Weekly Market Update e-newsletter delivered Saturday morning.
