Behind the Scenes

We’re still reeling!

Brownfield Blog:  The Brownfield Ag News team is still reeling from the excitement of last week’s National Association of Farm Broadcasting Annual (NAFB) Convention. In addition to re-tooling with professional development sessions and conducting more than 150 interviews with newsmakers and agricultural industry representatives, members of the Brownfield Ag News were recognized for many achievements.

Congratulations Julie Harker, recipient of the 1st Place NAFB Newscast Award, and to Ken Anderson who received the NAFB News Service Editor’s Choice Award for Exceptional Merit. Both Meghan Grebner and Julie Harker received 5-year NAFB tenure awards. Bob Meyer received a 20-year tenure award and both Dave Russell and Cyndi Young were recognized for 25-years in NAFB.

Ken Anderson was recognized for his term as President and his years of service on the board of directors of the NAFB Foundation, as he retires from the board at the end of the year. Meghan Grebner, East Region Vice President for the NAFB, was recognized for her years of service on the NAFB Board.

John Baker, Executive Vice President for Brownfield was elected to the NAFB Marketing and Promotions board.

The highlight of the convention was the President’s Banquet on Friday night where Tom Steever was honored for his extended term leading NAFB. Lots of family and Brownfielders there to support, roast and toast Tom.

During the banquet, Tom presented President’s Awards to Cyndi Young and to the Brownfield Ag News Team.

There are a whole bunch of pictures and we continue to add more.
