A more expensive breakfast on the horizon

Bacon and eggs are a perfect salty and savory breakfast combo.  But – could it become the most expensive meal of the day? 

The USDA continues to project a rise in egg prices because of the ongoing battle the poultry industry is facing with highly pathogenic avian influenza.  But the other part of that combo is bacon.  And according to the latest Cold Storage report from the USDA, belly stocks (Bellies are used to make bacon) are down 39 percent on the year.
