Arsenic in rice – should you be concerned?

The Food and Drug Administration has tested about 13-hundred samples of rice and rice products for the presence of arsenic.  Arsenic is a naturally occurring trace element – plants take it up from the soil. There’s the organic form, which means naturally occurring and the inorganic form which is the type that in large amounts could be harmful to health.  The FDA says out of those samples, detectable levels of arsenic were two low to cause any immediate or short term adverse health effects.  What do you as a consumer do?
