Food label dates can cause confusion
Confused about dates on food products? You’re not alone. A new report calls for a uniform system for date on foods because of consumer confusion and food waste over the meaning of “sell by”, “use by”, and “best before” dates. “Sell by”, for example, is a term meaningful only between food companies and grocers, not meant for consumers.
