How weather impacts food costs

We’ve seen a lot of extreme weather events in recent years.  From extended drought conditions, to severe storms, hurricanes, or tornados – these severe weather events can have a significant impact on food prices by reducing supply and increasing production costs.

David Branch with Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute says that’s one of the reasons the cost of cocoa has gone up significantly this year.
