Is excluding whole groups of foods good for you?
One of the newest diets is the Paleo or so-called ‘Caveman’ diet which omits all grains and dairy products. It is designed to mimic the foods cavemen ate before there was agriculture. Wild meats, freshly caught fish, nuts, plants, berries and the like. Proponents say our bodies are genetically predisposed to eating that way and the modern diet is the cause of the obesity epidemic and chronic disease. I asked Greg Miller, President of the Dairy Research Institute, about the Paleo Diet’s exclusion of all dairy foods.
