The virtues of vitamin C are many and new research boosts its potential health benefits. Research shows Vitamin C protects our overall health – it is known to support heart health and boosts immunity. It’s shown to have prevention qualities against cancer, stroke, certain eye disease and skin wrinkles. Citrus fruits are loaded with vitamin C – oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes. And now new research in France says consumption of vitamin C rich foods and supplements may help reduce the risk of the most common type of hemorrhagic stroke, a severe form of stroke.
