Ready to go apples

A new kind of apple, sliced and ready to go, is available at select grocery stores.

Arctic apples will provide more convenience to consumers and have a longer shelf-life because they don’t turn brown when bumped or cut.  Horticulture professor Peter Hirst at Purdue University says genetic engineering has allowed the browning trait to be turned off in the apples.
