The Pork Quality Assurance Program helps keep the commercial food supply safe
The implementation of the PQA Plus – a producer education and certification program designed by the U.S. pork industry to help pig farmers continually improve production practices has helped reduce the risk of food safety concerns – like trichinella.
Dr. Heather Fowler, director of producer and public health for the National Pork Board, says those steps, plus proper preparation, result in a safe, nutritious food supply.
