Cottonwood Ranch

Here is another in a series of reports on how Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is “Powering Nebraska”. On today’s program, we’ll visit with NPPD Senior Environmental Specialist Jim Jenniges about the Cottonwood Ranch, which is located along the Platte River in central Nebraska. NPPD purchased the ranch in 1992 to improve habitat for threatened and endangered species, including whooping cranes. Jenniges talks about the numerous improvements that have been made over the years and some of the results they’re seeing.
