Livestock operations build local economies

Livestock operations are integral parts of a community’s economic base.  Nick Anderson with the Illinois Livestock Development Group helps livestock entrepreneurs through the maze of permitting livestock operations in Illinois.  Anderson tells Brownfield that in 2017 there was a fair amount of new business put on-line in Illinois providing an economic bump for the state.

Another important part of livestock business development is the economic impact on local grain producers.

“I have seen,” Anderson told Brownfield Ag News, “where there’s a 10-cent basis difference if we can eat that grain locally.”
