Making UAVs practical and profitable

The fervor over agricultural use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) seems to have subsided some in recent months, at least among us media types. But University of Nebraska-Lincoln ag engineer Wayne Woldt says there’s still a lot happening behind the scenes.
Woldt has worked with UAVs for several years and has established the Nebraska Unmanned Aircraft Innovation, Research and Education Lab (NU-AIRE) at UNL to conduct research on aerial robotics and remote sensing.
Woldt says UAVs have tremendous potential for agriculture, but there’s still work to be done.
