USDA corn estimate “a big surprise”

In it’s latest production forecast, the USDA caught many off-guard when it increased the projected U.S. corn yield and associated production estimate.

A grain marketer calls the yield guess of 181 bushels per acre, which would be a record, a big surprise.

And, Angie Setzer says it puts even more pressure on commodity prices heading into fall.
