Analysts expecting smaller grain and oilseed ending stocks

Ahead of the USDA supply and demand update out Thursday April 9, analystsare expecting tighter stocks for corn, soybeans and wheat thanks to improved export demand in recent weeks.

The average guess for 2008/09 corn ending stocks is 1.731 billion bushels, soybeans are pegged at 169 million bushels and wheat's seen at 697 million bushels. InMarch, the USDA put corn stocks at 1.740 billion bushels, soybeans at 185 million bushels and wheat at 712 million bushels.

The Thursday, April 9 USDA report will also include updated world supply and demand estimates. The numbers are out at 7:30 AM Central.
