Cash dairy mixed at midweek

Chicago Mercantile Exchange cash dairy markets were mixed Wednesday.

The USDA says cash cheese barrels were up $.01 and ¾ at $2.28 and ¼, the second day in a row with a gain while 40 pound blocks lost a half a cent, closing at $2.09 and ½ after starting the week steady.

Double A butter was a penny lower at $3.16.

Grade A nonfat dry milk was a quarter higher at $1.28 and ½, continuing the week’s firm trend.

Extra grade dry whey was up one cent at $.56 and ¾.
