CME butter down 3rd straight day, other milk & dairy prices mixed Wednesday

Milk futures were mixed and cash dairy prices up except for butter Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

November Class III milk was up $0.09 at $20.68.  December was down $0.04 at $19.06.  January was up $0.08 at $18.90.  February was up $0.07 at $19.27.  March through October contracts ranged from five cents lower in May to seven cents higher in March. 

Dry whey was up $0.0125 at $0.4525.  One sale was recorded at $0.45.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0175 to $1.9775.  One sale was recorded at $1.98.

Cheese Barrels were up $0.01 at $1.97.  No sales were recorded.

Butter was sharply down for a third consecutive day, falling $0.09 to $2.61.  Unlike Tuesday where there were many offers but no sales, Wednesday had fifteen sales ranging from $2.61 to $2.7050.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0250 to $1.37.  No sales were recorded.
