CME cash dairy prices mixed

Cash dairy prices were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Dry whey is unchanged at $0.64.

Blocks up $0.0250 at $1.7225. Four sales were made from $1.7125 to 1.72.

Barrels down $0.01 at $1.7250. Two sales were made at $1.7250 to $1.7350.

Butter down $0.0025 at $2.5825.

Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.40.

The Global Dairy Trade index in New Zealand on Tuesday continued modest improvements for November, up nearly 2 percent. Whole milk powder posted the largest increase, up 3.2 percent, followed by anhydrous milk fat and skim milk powder. Cheese took the biggest hit during the event with Mozzarella down 6.6 percent and cheddar declining by 3.1 percent.
