CME milk futures, cash dairy lower Friday

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets continued to fall Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

March Class III milk was down $0.19 at $16.77.  April was down $0.39 at $16.78.  May was down $0.33 at $17.22.  June was down $0.15 at $17.75.  

July through January contracts ranged from unchanged in January to twelve cents lower in July.  Friday’s Class III trade volume was 1,847 contracts. 

Dry whey was down $0.0025 at $0.4250.  No sales were recorded.  

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0550 at $1.55.  Three sales were recorded, ranging from $1.55 to $1.5650. 

Cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.65.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Butter was down $0.0075 at $2.7575.  Ten sales were recorded, ranging from $2.7475 to $2.7675. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0075 at $1.1975.   Seven sales were recorded, ranging from $1.1825 to $1.1975.
