CME milk futures, cash dairy mostly lower Friday

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were mostly lower  Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

February Class III milk was up $0.01 at $16.13.  March was down $0.21 at $16.98.  April was down $0.14 at $17.35.  May was down $0.16 at $17.71.  

June through December contracts ranged from fifteen cents lower in June to one cent higher in August.  Wednesday’s Class III trade volume was light, with just under nine hundred contracts. 

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.52.  No sales were recorded. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0325 at $1.57.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Cheese barrels were up $0.01 at $1.5775.  Five sales were recorded, ranging from $1.5675 to $1.5850. 

Butter was down $0.0550 at $2.69.  Four sales were recorded, ranging from $2.69 to $2.6925. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0025 at $1.20.   Ten sales were recorded, ranging from $1.1950 to $1.20.
