CME milk futures, cash dairy mostly lower Monday

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were mostly lower again Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

March Class III milk was down $0.07 at $16.70.  April was down $0.20 at $16.58.  May was down $0.17 at $17.05.  June was down $0.13 at $17.62.  

July through January contracts ranged from ten cents lower in September to eight cents higher in December, but December was the only month with a price gain.  Monday’s Class III trade volume was 1,250 contracts. 

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.4250.  No sales were recorded.  

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0225 at $1.5275.  Nine sales were recorded, ranging from $1.5250 to $1.5375. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0025 at $1.6475.  Two sales were recorded at $1.6425 and $1.6475. 

Butter was up $0.0525 at $2.81.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.1975.   No sales were recorded.
