CME milk futures down, cash dairy mixed Tuesday

Milk futures were lower and cash dairy markets were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

October Class III milk was down $0.31 at $16.98.  November was down $0.29 at $17.11.  December was down $0.22 at $17.51.  January was down $0.16 at $17.95.  February through August contracts ranged from eleven cents lower in February to ten cents higher in June.   

Dry whey was down $0.0350 at $0.29. Eighteen sales were recorded, ranging from $0.29 to $0.32. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0225 at $1.7575. No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0425 at $1.54.  Seven sales were recorded, ranging from $1.54 to $1.56. 

Butter was up $0.14 at $3.18.  One sale was recorded at $3.10. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0225 at $1.1775. Two sales were recorded at $1.1775 and $1.18.
