CME milk futures lower, cash dairy mixed again Wednesday

Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were mixed Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

March Class III milk was down $0.04 at $17.24.  April was down $0.07 at $17.49.  May was down $0.07 at $17.77.  June was down $0.11 at $18.05.  

July through January contracts ranged from unchanged in September, October, and December to fifteen cents lower in July.  Wednesday’s Class III trade volume was 1,854 contracts. 

Dry whey was down $0.0125 at $0.44.  Three sales were recorded, ranging from $0.45 to $0.4575.  

Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.0050 at $1.6150.  No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels remained unchanged at $1.67.  No sales were recorded. 

Butter was down $0.0350 at $2.80.  Five sales were recorded, ranging from $2.7950 to $2.8075. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.01 at $1.19.   Two sales were recorded at that price.
