CME milk futures up, cash dairy mixed Friday

Milk futures were up in the near term and cash dairy prices were mixed Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December Class III milk was up $0.12 at $20.50.  January was up $0.01 at $19.24.  February was up $0.10 at $19.28.  March was up $0.04 at $19.50.  April through October contracts ranged from eight cents lower in July to six cents higher in April and September.

Dry whey was down $0.0025 at $0.4350.  Four sales were recorded from $0.4350 to $0.4375.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0250 at $2.0950.  No sales were recorded.

Cheese barrels were unchanged at $1.95.  Five sales were recorded from $1.9450 to $1.95.

Butter was up $0.1275 recovering a little from Thursday’s twenty-cent fall, closing at $2.8125.  Ten sales were recorded from $2.73 to $2.82.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0150 at $1.3650.   No sales were recorded.
