Milk futures, cash dairy mixed
Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile ended modestly lower Monday, scaling back on gains seen last week.
April Class III milk unchanged at $15.97. May down 11 cents at $16.21. June down two cents at $16.37. July a penny lower at $16.52. August through December contracts were two cents lower to a nickel higher.
Dry whey up $0.0125 at $0.34. Four trades were made ranging from $0.3275 to $0.3375.
Blocks down $0.0125 at $1.6725. One trade was made at $1.6750.
Barrels remained unchanged at $1.63. Five trades were made at that price.
Butter up $0.01 at $2.28. Six trades were made ranging from $2.2675 to $2.28.
Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.04.
Cooperatives Working Together says 12 offers for export assistance have been accepted to help move more than 480,000 pounds of Cheddar cheese, nearly 360,000 pounds of whole milk powder, and more than 480,000 pounds of cream cheese.
Delivery is contracted for May through August and will sent to customers in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
