Milk futures lower, cash dairy mostly higher

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange ended the week lower pressured by a higher dollar and position squaring while cash trade was higher.

April Class III milk down 16 cents at $15.40. May 64 cents lower at $16.02. June down 66 cents at $16.53. July 46 cents lower at $17.21. August through October contracts 10 to 17 cents lower.

Dry whey down $0.0025 at $0.36. Seven sales were made at $0.36 and $0.3625.

Blocks up $0.0250 at $1.5350. Twenty-one trades were made from $1.5175 to $1.54.

Barrels up $0.0250 at $1.5725. Five trades were made at $1.57 to $1.5725.

Butter up $0.0275 at $2.8750. Five sales were made at $2.8750 to $2.91.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0075 at $1.1425. Four sales were made at that price.
