2% of Ohio corn, 3% of soybeans harvested
The USDA says warm and dry conditions helped accelerate crop conditions last week in Ohio.
Some farmers began harvesting corn for grain as two percent of the state’s crop has been harvested, near the five-year average of 3%. Seventy-seven percent of corn has dented and 40% of the crop is mature.
Three percent of soybeans have been harvested, behind the five-year average of 5%, with 52% of the crop dropping leaves.
USDA says 3% of the state’s winter wheat crop has been planted, one percentage point ahead of 2022.
