2025 corn prices have the potential to rally

A senior market advisor at Total Farm Marketing says corn prices could rally next year.

Bryan Doherty says taking a long-term approach is key.

“It’s a cheap commodity in relationship to the cost of producing it, and it’s a cheap commodity in relationship to where the price was,” he says.

He tells Brownfield producers should be patient while watching the markets and set high target price points when making sale decisions.

“Farmer selling has been very slow when market prices dipped,” he says. “So a farmer, if he or she in particular has storage, they have time on their side and that time will allow them to hang on to the inventory a little longer and not sell it into dips.”

Doherty says market volatility will likely continue as extreme weather and geo-political events occur.
