2026 ethanol exports remain on pace to shatter 2025 record

Global demand for U.S. ethanol was strong during the first quarter of 2026.

The Renewable Fuels Association says that during the first three months of year, the U.S. has exported 639.8 million gallons of ethanol, 20% ahead of 2025’s record pace, boosted by competitive prices and solid world demand for lower carbon fuels.

That included 217.8 million gallons of ethanol in March, 4% above February, with Canada, the European Union, and the Philippines leading the way.

Exports of distillers dried grains with solubles were a five-month high at 1.03 million tons, primarily to Mexico, Indonesia, and South Korea.

Year-to-date DDGS exports are 2.96 million tons, 10% faster than a year ago.

Ethanol imports during March were 5,511 gallons, all from Canada.
