21% of Arkansas corn, 6% of soybeans planted

Corn continues to emerge in Arkansas.

The USDA says 21% of corn is planted compared to the five-year average of 22%. 6% of the crop has emerged, compared to 5% on average.

Rice planting has reached 12% compared to the five-year average of 9%, and 1% of the crop has emerged.

Soybeans are 6% planted with just 1% of the crop emerged.

Ten percent of the winter wheat crop has headed, below the five-year average of 14%. The crop is rated 69% good to excellent.
