33% of Illinois soybeans planted, 32% of corn planted

The USDA says Illinois farmers made significant planting progress last week.

The latest weekly crop progress and condition report shows 33 percent of Illinois soybeans were planted as of Sunday, compared to 22 percent last week, and 30 percent last year.  Soybeans emerged reached 10 percent. The USDA says 32 percent of corn has been planted, compared to 16 percent last week, and 31 percent last year; with 8 percent emerged.  

Sixty-one percent of winter wheat is rated good to excellent condition, with 23 percent headed. 

Sixty-six percent of pastures are rated good to excellent condition, up 6 percent from last week.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 90 percent adequate to surplus, while subsoil moisture was rated 84 percent adequate to surplus.
