46% of Kentucky corn, 19% of soybeans harvested

The USDA says Kentucky’s fall harvest was delayed by significant rainfall in some areas last week with much of the central portion remaining very dry.

Forty-six percent of the state’s corn has been harvested, down from 57% on average, with 86% of the crop mature.

Nineteen percent of Kentucky soybeans have been harvested, below the five-year average of 22%, with 77% of the crop coloring and 55% dropping leaves.

Tobacco is 92% cut, and winter wheat is 5% planted.
