55% of U.S. winter wheat rated good to excellent
The USDA’s winter wheat condition rating moved higher over the past week as the crop gets closer to dormancy.
55% of U.S. winter wheat is in now in good to excellent condition, a surge of 6% over the past week and well above the initial rating thanks to recent improvements in precipitation in many key growing areas. 97% of winter wheat is planted and 89% has emerged, both close to the respective five-year averages.
84% of cotton is harvested, compared to 80% on average.
