$58 million available for organic dairies
The USDA has announced $58 million in marketing assistance is available for organic dairy farmers.
The funding through the Organic Dairy Marketing Assistance Program provides cost-share payments on up to nine million pounds of milk for producers.
The USDA says the program supports keeping the organic dairy market sustainable until markets return to more normal conditions.
The assistance is provided through unused Commodity Credit Corporation funds remaining from earlier pandemic assistance programs.
The Farm Service Agency will be accepting applications until the end of November.
