58% of Indiana corn, 59% of soybeans good to excellent
Corn and soybean planting are almost complete in Indiana.
According to the USDA, dry conditions continued, and some corn and soybean fields showed signs of drought stress.
Ninety-eight percent of Indiana’s corn crop is emerged, and 58 percent is rated good to excellent.
Soybeans are 98 percent planted and 92 percent emerged. The crop is rated 59 percent good to excellent.
Thirteen percent of the winter wheat crop is harvested, and 63 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.
The first cutting of alfalfa hay is 96 percent complete and the first cutting of other hay is 92 percent complete.
