64 Holstein calves stolen in Mercer County, Ohio heist
More than 60 Holstein calves were stolen from a Mercer County, Ohio farm.
According to local news reports, the calves were stolen Monday night into early Tuesday morning near State Route 219 and Coldwater Creek Road. The cattle are owned by Gaerke Brother Farms and were raised by Selhorst Farms near Coldwater.
In a statement to Brownfield, Sheriff Doug Timmerman with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office said the calves are 13 weeks old, weigh about 250 lbs, and are worth about $2,000 each.
Timmerman says the investigation is ongoing and the department does not currently have any suspects.
