66% of Minnesota corn, 67% of soybeans rated good to excellent

A southern Minnesota farmer says he’s optimistic about harvest later this fall.

“Of course August makes the soybeans, but the corn really looks excellent.”

He tells Brownfield the weather has been timely.

“We’ve been up and down. Dry and wet. Everything looks really good. We’ve been lucky. Been dry at the right time.”

Monday’s Crop Progress report showed Minnesota’s corn condition at 66% good to excellent with 28% of the crop dented, 82% in the dough stage, and 97% silking.

Minnesota soybeans were rated 67% good to excellent with 93% of the crop setting pods.
