68% of U.S. corn, 66% of soybeans good to excellent

U.S. corn and soybean condition ratings held over the past week. That followed another week of wide-ranging, but generally favorable, weather in many key growing areas.

The USDA says 68% of U.S. corn is rated good to excellent, steady on the week, with 97% of the crop emerged and 5% silking.

66% of soybeans are called good to excellent, unchanged, with 93% of the crop emerged and 9% blooming.

40% of winter wheat is harvested, compared to the five-year average of 24%, with 26% of the crop reported as good to excellent, down 1%.

54% of spring wheat is good to excellent, 1% less than last week, and 16% has headed.

53% of U.S. cotton is in good to excellent shape, 3% higher, with 92% planted, 27% squaring, and 5% setting bolls, all close to average.

71% of rice is said to be good to excellent, up 1% on the week, and 13% has headed.

51% of sorghum is in good to excellent condition, 10% below the first rating of 2025, with 84% of the crop planted.

33% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are rated as good to excellent, a week-to-week improvement of 1%.

The USDA’s national weekly crop progress and condition reports are scheduled to run through the end of November.
